frequently asked questions

What is wedding photojournalism?

Wedding photojournalism is a type of photography that focuses on telling the story of your wedding in an unobtrusive manner. This means I strive to capture the essence of your wedding without interfering with the flow of events.

Do you also take formal group photos?

Absolutely! This may be one of the few occasions where all your family and friends are together at the same time. The best photographs of people are taken when they’re relaxed, so I take these photos quickly (usually only 20-30 minutes for all the formal portraits) and in a casual manner.

How far in advance should we book our photographer?

It is recommended you book a minimum of nine to twelve months in advance. Prime Saturdays are often booked more than one year in advance.

What are Flush Mounted Albums?

These are beautiful, custom designed albums. Photographs are flush mounted so that they become the page. The design possibilities are almost limitless, enabling me to create an album that reflects the story of your wedding day.

How do our family and friends view our wedding pictures?

The photographs from your wedding will be posted on my website for 30 days. This allows them to view and purchase wedding photographs directly from Dave Russell Photography.

Will you travel?

Yes. I photograph weddings nationwide, and I would be happy to travel to your wedding. A reasonable travel fee will apply for weddings outside the Denver/Boulder or Colorado Springs metro areas.
